Catherine Burns Quencer
Catherine Burns Quencer is a principal in the firm and concentrates her practice in the areas of trusts and estates and real estate. Mrs. Quencer received a B.A. in 1982, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University. She returned to her alma mater to earn a J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1985. She is a member of the New York State and Jefferson County Bar associations (past president). Mrs. Quencer was admitted to practice before all New York courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mrs. Quencer is very active in community affairs and currently serves as a Trustee of the Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, The ARC Jefferson-St. Lawrence Foundation, the Northern New York Community Foundation (former chair), and the Jane E. Deline Foundation.
Her past community involvement includes serving as a Board member of the Samaritan Medical Center, the Board of Governors of the Hospital Trustees of New York State, the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization, and the American Hospital Association Committee on Governance. She has also been a Board member of the Northern New York Community Foundation, the Jefferson Community College Foundation, the Jefferson County Community Services Board, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Friends of the Roswell P. Flower Memorial Library, Planned Parenthood of Northern New York (past president), and served as a director and trustee of the Young Women's Christian Association of Watertown, New York. Additionally, Mrs. Quencer acted for many years as a conference team leader for the United Way of Northern New York.
A lifelong resident of the North Country, Mrs. Quencer resides in Dexter where she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys travel, hiking, movies, and pleasure reading.
